Where to Get Post Ideas: Services That Show Your Audience's Questions
A familiar situation: you sit down to write a post and your head is empty. The topics that come on their own are often interesting only to you. Your audience is searching for answers to its own questions, and the more precisely you hit the wording, the more willingly people read.
The way out is simple: don't invent topics, take ready-made questions from people. There are services that collect what people actually type into search engines. Below are two such services and a routine that turns questions into a post plan.
How question services work
The idea is the same everywhere. You enter a topic in one or two words, and the service shows which questions people ask about it in search engines. You get a ready list of headlines: each question is already written in the voice of a person looking for an answer.
This is more convenient than guessing. Instead of "what should I write about," you have dozens of phrasings on screen, and they show what people don't understand and what they're missing.
Answer Socrates
Answer Socrates promises to collect hundreds of real questions from Google, Bing, YouTube, and AI model answers. The homepage states that a single seed query yields more than 1,000 real questions on average. The search form lets you pick a country and language, so you can get a list in your audience's language.
You can start for free. As of October 15, 2026, the page says: 3 free searches a day, no bank card needed to start. For regular work this is enough if you come for topics every few days and enter one or two precise queries at a time.
AnswerThePublic
AnswerThePublic does something similar: it shows questions, prepositions, comparisons, and related queries that people enter into search engines. The comparisons and prepositions are especially useful: they show what people are choosing between ("which is better," "what for," "without what").
It's worth checking the free access terms on the service's pricing page: they change, and we don't state an exact number of free searches.
How to turn questions into post ideas
A list of questions is not a post plan yet. Five steps turn it into topics.
- 1. Enter one or two main queries on your topic, for example the name of your service or the area you consult in.
- 2. Write down all the questions you have something to answer. Leave the rest.
- 3. Group similar questions. Each group becomes one topic, and sometimes a whole series of posts.
- 4. Turn a question into a headline. "How to choose..." becomes a post "How to choose... in three steps," and "How much does... cost" becomes a price breakdown.
- 5. Answer the question from your own experience: add an example, steps, a mistake you see in clients. An answer from practice is worth more than a retelling.
An example. Say you consult on planning the workday. You enter "day planning" and get questions with different openings: "how," "why," "how much," "can you."
A "can you" question turns well into a short post with a clear answer, and a "how" question into a step-by-step note. So one query gives you both the format and the headline.
From a single query you get a post plan for several weeks.
What to do with the finished list
Don't publish all the ideas in a row. Pick three questions you can answer most convincingly and start with them.
If the answer fits into a short note, make a post. If it needs a breakdown with steps, make an article or a carousel. A question whose answer can be shown in a single step suits a reel well.
Don't be afraid of repeats. It's useful to cover the same question in several formats: your audience reads, watches, and scrolls in different ways.
